A picture book entitled Wakan Meigaen (i.e., A Garden of Celebrated Japanese and Chinese Paintings) included nineteen pictures of flowers and (or) birds drawn by Japanese artists from different painting schools. These pictures are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. This woodblock-printed picture book was edited by Shumboku Ōoka and published in 1750.
